Colon: What is it?

Constipation is also a symptom wherein you would have difficulties with your bowel movements. Having watery stools or diarrhea, red or dark red blood in the stools, and stools that is like "pencil stools", having a feeling that you cannot completely empty your bowels and abdominal discomfort and gas pains are the common symptoms of local colon cancer.
If you experience any of these symptoms for more than two weeks already, it is best to consult your doctor to have a test taken and to resolve the issue fast to prevent further complications.
Systemic colon cancer
Systemic colon cancer affects the whole body thus you will experience weight loss. Some common and obvious symptoms of systemic colon cancer include sudden weight loss even if you are not enrolled in a diet program. Appetite loss, extreme fatigue, vomiting and nausea, being anemic (low in red blood cell or low in iron) and diagnosed as having jaundice (having a yellowish skin and whites in the eyes) are just some of the common symptoms of systemic colon cancer.
What to do if you have a colon cancer
Seek medical advice if you experience any of these symptoms. You will be asked for your medical history and have blood tests and screenings. You might be asked to do a follow up test by your doctor if necessary.
Many patients don't want to undergo the colon cancer screening as for them it is embarrassing and it is painful. You doctor is experienced in this cases so you have your health to them. Doctors and nurses also undergo these tests to ensure their health so it is nothing to be embarrassed about.
