Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is an artificial hormone. This hormone is naturally produced by the body for energy and for metabolism. This medication is used when the body cannot produce enough natural hormones. Synthroid drug can also be used for preventing goiter which occurs due to the deficiency of the hormone, rays treatment, surgeries and cancer disorder.
How should I take this medication?
Synthroid Brand should be used as it is prescribed by the doctor. Do not over dose or use yourself if it is not prescribed by the doctor. The patient should go for regular check ups in order to see whether or not the medication is performing well. The patent should take this medication on empty stomach just 30 minutes before having the meal. Check the prescription for the direction labeled on the medication. If you forget to take the medicine and still time is there to take another dose than you should take it immediately but do not take over dose it by taking 2 dosage at the same time.
