, it is essential to get the right t-shirt for the occasion. With summer first approaching it's time to make sure we have the right t-shirts to impress. T-shirts get a complete makeover in summer with bold colours and eye catching patterns taking over along with the more traditional styles. Choosing the right t-shirts can be overwhelming but don't worry, I'm going to guide you through some top styles. Keep your fashion choices varied to stave off fashion stagnation and always keep in mind that we all want summer fashion to be fun!

Big and bright

In winter t-shirts are hidden away under layers but now they'll be on full display so choose big and bold colours; try red, blue or yellow. Pastel colours are great in vests and t-shirts and are a perfect match for dark drainpipe or skinny jeans. If you're looking for a striking style, try colour clashes; a pastel blue shirt and pastel green skinny jeans is a favourite of mine and always impresses. The best thing about this style is it's convenient and won't break the bank; Primark, H&M, TK Max etc... All have great ranges of pastel t-shirts and there really is no need to spend more on them, unless you find something really special.

Bold Design

Though your 'Your Mum' t-shirt is bound to amuse your mates, it's not exactly going to win you any fashion praise. When choosing a t-shirt based on design, steer away from cheesy slogans and jokes. Printed t-shirts have seen a surge in popularity over the last few months and that's set to continue for a long time. A white t-shirt with a good quality print is always eye catching, a perfect choice to go with the usual non distinct shorts and sandals combo. My pick for the summer? Artistic prints on light colours. Topman has a fantastic range of these styles and if you can resist running to the shop for a little while, you'll grab a bargain in the summer sale!

Funky and Unique

If you're not feeling the idea of pastels and designs, it's time to buck the trends and become a fashion warrior! If you're artistically gifted (or just really brave) you can try making your own t-shirt designs. There are loads of websites and shops that will print your own designs for you at reasonable prices, so all you need to do is find one and find a cheap t-shirt in the colour you want and if you really want to DIY it, just grab some material pens, inks or paints and go to town! Share your motto for life with the world or make people stop and stare with a complex illustration, whatever you choose to print, your personally designed t-shirt will be truly unique and eye catching.
