It was not always known to the world as TD Garden though. The arena first had its beginning way back in 1928 when President Calvin Coolidge opened the doors of the then named Boston Gardens. Created by Ted Rickards, it soon became the most popular place down Causeway Street. For 66 years after, the Boston Garden saw the best in entertainment and sporting events being played out within its walls. From Aerosmith to The Beatles, The Boston Celtics and The Bruins, all contributed towards the fame and name of the arena. This stadium even played host to family events and acted as a political platform when the need arose.
