We are in the information age and almost everyone uses a laptop computer. Laptops provide tremendous convenience allowing remote completion of work immediately. They have become equally as common and important in life today as mobile phones. If you want to take good care of your laptop and preserve your investment you should realize how fragile it actually is.
BE STATIONARY - When you are using the power cord make sure your laptop is stationary and never pick up the unit and walk around the room or have a need to move it around whatsoever. Make certain you can place it down in a secure place and use it there, then plug it in after. Also you should disconnect it instantly when you are finished. Never leave a laptop plugged in and unattended.
USE FLAT SURFACE - Don't put your laptop on a bed or other soft surface. This can put pressure on the jack if the unit sinks into the cushioning. Additionally, you may cover the cooling vents and overheat the unit. You can crash several important components inside your laptop if you allow it to overheat.
PROPER STORAGE - Don't put your laptop away in the case even while you still have the power cord connected. Also, you should always unplug the wire from your laptop and store securely in a protective case.
NO TENSION - Be sure that there will be no force to the power cord which is attached to the laptop. Don't have it impacted against the wall behind your table or stuffed in a box or drawer where there is pressure anywhere on the cord, especially the point of connection and Avoid using cheap replacement cords from aftermarket manufacturers. Many aftermarket cords don't have the same accurate sized fittings as the original equipment.
DISCONNECT WHEN FINISHED - Always disconnect your cord instantly when you are finished using your laptop computer. Gently pull the plug out of the unit (straight & carefully). You should always clutch the plug part of the power cord. Do not just grab it and pull like most people do, as you will eventually break the internal and external link points.
