This is a useful guide to help you with the installation of your TV brackets for LCD TV's.
Before you start, firstly check what type of wall you will be fixing your TV bracket to; it will be either a brick, concrete or breeze block wall for one type of fixing or a partition wall with plasterboard studding. You will find that a TV bracket or LCD bracket have fixing holes designed to be installed onto these types of walls.
Block and brick built walls
Firstly decide the positioning of your TV bracket and once you are happy, mark the centre point where you wish to mount your LCD bracket. Then take the wall mount part of the TV bracket and offer it up against the wall making sure that the centre point is in the middle of your LCD bracket.
Check and make sure that it is straight by using a spirit level before marking the TV bracket mounting holes with a pencil. Remove the back-plate and drill the marked points to the required depth to match the raw plugs. Insert the plugs into the drilled holes, offer up the LCD bracket back-plate and screw the wall fixings into place.
In the TV bracket kit you will have two arms; they are to be fixed directly to the rear of your television using the fixings supplied and if required the included spacers. It is always worthwhile fitting the cables at this stage as the LCD bracket can restrict access. With this complete carefully lift the television onto the wall mounted TV bracket, and finish off by fitting the securing screws to keep it in place.
Plasterboard Wall with Studding
The process of fitting your TV bracket to plasterboard is much the same, but due to the heavy weight of a television it must be fixed to the studding that is hidden behind the plasterboard; these can be found by using an electronic stud-finder, which picks up on the screws in the wood. The studding is usually spaced 12 inches apart and the LCD bracket will have multiple holes so that you can align the mounting slots to these.
