Taekwon Do Training - Five Ways You Can Train Harder And Longer Today

The training in Taekwondo is one of the toughest things you can do physically and mentally

. It's one of the toughest out there. Being an Olympic Sport has meant that the level of Taekwondo all over the world has improved, as every country, big and small, as looked to increase their chances of winning medals at World and Olympic Level.

If you are a Taekwondo athlete, experienced or new, and a gold medal is your goal, then you need to be able train hard and long regularly. These are five top tips you can use to train just like that to win the medals you want.

1. Increase Sprint Fitness

Having great fitness is more than essential for sport, not just Taekwondo. A lot of people believe Taekwondo is all about endurance, when in fact it's all about sprint and being able to kick fast. Sprints like 100m, 200m and 400m will increase your kicking speed and power, not just your overall fitness. As you do more and more sprints, your fitness increases, the fat on your body falls off and you also increase the speed of your kicks so you're kicking faster than before. These are essential for success as an athlete.

2. Increase Protein

Eating more protein whether it's from meat, vegetables or a protein shake is vital. Our muscles are made of protein. Training breaks down our muscles and to train for longer and harder, you have to recuperate and repair your muscles fast. Having a protein drink or shake after a training session helps get that vital protein in our system that we need. Eating a meal within two hours of training that's high in protein also really helps with recuperating for your next training. Making sure you have enough protein is essential for your body to be able to recover from any training that you do. Without enough protein in your body, it will not be able to repair your damaged muscles properly, and your body may take protein from other muscles to help repair.

3. Stretch

Many people don't realize how important it is to stretch, and this is mainly because they don't understand how vital it is for their training. When stretching, you get blood into the muscles that help get away all the damaged cells, etc. Not only that, it also helps to get the vital protein and nutrients into your muscles that speed up recovery. Having short muscles that are tight and inflexible take longer to recuperate from training. By lengthening them, you are helping to recover faster.

4. Visualization

When you visualize, you actually increase the chances of winning dramatically over your competition who don't use this tool. Visualizing at night tells your subconscious mind what it needs to do while you are sleeping. If you have been training hard and long, then you are telling your mind to speed up the recovery of your body quicker than normal so that you can train more. Visualizing anything from a sparring match in your school to winning a championships tells your mind where you want to go and it recuperates your body to accommodate that.

5. Getting Good Quality Sleep

We all need sleep. When we sleep we recuperate and repair our bodies from training. You need it for any success you want. If we do not recuperate we over train and we are not effective in training or competition. With quality sleep, we help our body get what it needs to recover so we can then go and train harder than we have done before. Visualization before sleeping accelerates this. So these two combined have an even better effect together than if we did them separately. By sleeping better, you will end up needing less. You wake totally refreshed in the morning and have more time in the day to do more of what you want. Sleeping better and waking more refreshed helps us feel happier too, which is great to have.

With these simple steps you can improve your training performance a lot. They will help with showing what you can do to help improve your performance. If you want to know how to do it, then you can get a lot more info at The Taekwondo Coach.
