For most people each day brings with it a chance to make it special
. It allows us to do things different from the day before and brings us closer to our achieving our goals.
It's not easy, however, to always stay so positive. Many times we are bogged down by the world around us and get discouraged. We may submerge our needs for the needs of others without even realizing it. Before we know it, we may feel that our goals are so far away, there is no chance of achieving them.
We love our family and feel that they should always come first. But if we continually put ourselves last we may never find time to do the things we love. We may end up feeling dissatisfied and unfulfilled.
What we need to do is to take a time out for ourselves and not feel guilty about it. Use the time to explore ourselves and interests. Find out what makes us truly happy.
Why not create your own personal "to do" list? The list should be totally about your life goals. Think about what's important to you.
Decide what you want out of life and where you want to be in the future. Ask yourself what you would like to do with your free time if you had some? If you could start a business, what kind would it be?
Remind yourself what makes you excited about life. Explore your ideas and emotions.
Ask yourself what is important to you as an individual. What things in your life are needless and bring you down instead of building you up? At this stage in your life, what would make you happiest?
Go with your gut. Don't second-guess yourself and take steps to do some of the things on your list. Your family and work are important, but so are you.
