Taking A Tour Around The World's 10 Most Liveable Cities In 2010
Each and every year The Economist produces a list of the world's most liveable cities
based on a variety of factors within five different categories - stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
The following list is that from 2010, with main points of interest in each city should you make a journey around all ten of them.
1. Vancouver - starting in the city that scored 98 out of 100, Vancouver is one of Canada's most visited cities and if you decide to visit the world's most liveable city in 2010, soaking up the atmosphere and culture of such a wonderful city is all that is needed for a full experience.
2. Vienna - moving to the capital of Austria, it is highly recommended for anyone who visits to check out the Schonbrunn Palace, which is one of the most stunning buildings in the whole country.
3. Melbourne - heading Down Under and in Australia's highest ranking city in the list (and one of the most popular Australia Immigration destinations), for something a little different you should visit Centre Place, one of a handful of laneway arcades, packed full of cafes and small, local boutiques.
4. Toronto - back to Canada and as well as the famous CN Tower, Toronto boasts one of the most popular shopping outlets in the whole of Canada and North America. Known as the Toronto Eaton Centre, it was opened in 1977 and boasts well over 200 stores on over 1,700,000 square feet of land.
5. Calgary - staying in Canada, a visit to Calgary wouldn't be complete without taking in Banff, the country's oldest National Park. Established in 1885, Banff National Park stretches for 2,564 square miles and has some breathtakingly beautiful views, including Moraine Lake.
6. Helsinki - back off to Europe and the Finnish capital has one thing that the other cities (with the exception of Vienna) don't; extensive history - an in-depth and interesting overview of which can be found in the romantic-come-neo-classical styled National Museum of Finland.
7. Sydney - back to Australia and this time it's somewhat obvious what to see. Take your pick from the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House or Bondi Beach and you're guaranteed not to be disappointed.
8. Perth - staying in the country for Australia's third inclusion the list, Perth, if you're into sports, why not buy a ticket to sit in the 43,500 seat Subiaco Oval and take in a game of Australia rules football?
9. Adelaide - the fourth and final Australian city to be included in the list and this time we're flying over from Perth on the west to Adelaide on the east and no matter how long you have in the city, you have to visit Cleland Conservation Park, if not just for the fact you get to cuddle up to a koala bear.
10. Auckland - yet another Oceania city, we're finishing off our journey in Auckland, New Zealand and a visit really wouldn't be complete without experiencing part of the Maori culture, whether this is heading to a museum or a local outdoor event.
