The cheapest travel time is between mid January until March and from the mid November until mid December. The most expensive travel period is from June through August then from the middle of December through early January. Shoulder season, when fares are mid-range, is on April, May, and from September through late November.

Changing your usual airline is another option. The airline benefits seem to have grown measly. Your frequent flyer miles get less and less useable. Understandably you get frustrated, maybe its time to avail of other airline services.

Try doing a research online before you decide to buy your ticket. Doing so can help you get the lowest fare possible. Try searching for websites that can allow you to do a comparison for the rates for different airports.

You may also consider flying via courier flights. Courier flights present discounted fares in exchange for the courier to transport administrative materials.

You can also opt for an alternate route in getting to where you want to go. Sometimes connecting flights offer cheaper fares when a different route is taken. For instance, you are traveling to the Philippines from New York. The route that you take generally is via Detroit through Narita airport in Japan then on to Manila. You might find a San Francisco-Hawaii-Korea route much cheaper.
