Taking Care Of Kittens: A Wonderfully Tough Responsibility

Over 1.35 million of animal species currently exists in the world today

. Only a fraction of this is being domesticated and pet for. From dogs longstanding social niche to the reptilia kind of domestication and up to the breeding the cuddliest cats.

Kittens love to hear their owner's voice, play with them and be petted. In this case, kittens love attention. For those who prefer taking care of kittens, they should entertain a lot of considerations. Does the care of kittens involve cat-proofing? How is it done? What kind of milk should be given to my kitten? What are the needs of a kitten? What kind of food should I give?

Cat-proofing your home

Always make sure to do away of hazardous materials on the floor. Make sure that your toilet lid is always down. The kitten may fall into it or drink from it. Unless the kitten's litter box is inside the toilet room, keep the area off-limits. Cats hate the scents of bitter apple and lemon. These scented sprays could be great for marking off-limit areas for your cat.

Milk, food, and drinks for kitty

Kittens generally have small stomachs. They need to eat every few hours, and they need to constantly have clean, fresh water available to keep them hydrated. A diet rich in protein, calcium, taurine, and other nutrients are good for cats. They may be fed with dry food, canned, or both, but don't give them dog food since it it not rich in taurine, which is good for their eye development and helps prevent heart disease. Cow's milk may be good for us but for kittens, it's a no-no.

Quality time with kitty

The kitten's first weeks is an essential establishment between you and the little feline. Talk to her in soft and loving voice. Talk to her like you're talking with your best friend. Kittens get frightened with loud and angry voices, and often hearing you speak with the tone may create a relationship discord between you and your kitten. However, you can use a high-pitched yelp whenever the kitten gets too rough and enthusiastic during playtime.

Veterinary care

Some parasites may be passed on to the kitten from the mother's milk. Therefore, deworming is crucial. Have your kitten vaccinated with distemper and rabies vaccination. The first shot of the distemper vaccination is at 8 weeks, followed by a booster after 3-4 weeks. Rabies vaccination, on the other hand, should be given to the kitten when she's 4 months old. A booster will follow one year after, and she will need them again every 3 years for the rest of her life.

Caring for kitten may be tough, but the rewards are priceless.Companionship, constant love, acceptance, and reduces stress!
