Taking Risks, Work From Home

Id like to talk to you today about taking risks; taking risks in business to build the kind of lifestyle that you want to have; a life by your design

.

You know, I cannot tell you how many people that Ive met or that I personally know that have settled for a life or a lifestyle or an existence that is not fulfilling, where theyre unhappy or even that they hate simply because they have been unwilling to take risks.

Now when I talk about risks, Im talking about a well educated calculated risk. There are some schools of thought that would tell you that if you want to be a success learn how to go and jump off of a bridge and build your wings on the way down.

I actually dont advocate that. A mentor of mine, a very successful multi multimillionaire that I have a respect, for once told me Never put yourself or your family in a position where you cant pay your bills or cover your basics.

So Im not an advocate of putting everything you have on the line and risking losing it all, especially if youre a parent or youre married and you have kids. Youve got to take care of certain responsibilities.

But beyond that, you do have to be willing to step out there and do things that are uncomfortable, do things that other people may not be willing to do in order to have a lifestyle that other people wont have and that you havent had up until this point.

One of the really key components of that is having a certain self confidence in yourself. I know that whenever I look at embarking on a risk, once Ive gotten the information I need and I know what the best case and worst case scenario is and Ive prepared for both of them, I know that I am my own guarantee.

I know that my chances of success are increased because I am the one thats going after that opportunity. You have to have that attitude and that confidence in yourself where you know that even though you cant control what a job may do or a company may do or even what someone you invest in may do, you can always control what youre going to do.

You know that youre going to take it to the inth degree and that youre not going to quit and that youre going to do everything it takes to be successful in that venture. That is one of the ways where you manage the risk well and you become very good at taking calculated risks because you know as long as youre involved youve increased your likelihood of success.

At the same time you still are prepared emotionally for what may happen if it falls apart. Because failure is a part of success and you need to be able to embrace that as well. But the bottom line is that if there is no risk, there is no reward.

So if you want to be able to live a life by your design as opposed to living a life that a job dictates, or the government dictates, that you should have then you need to definitely become comfortable and practice being able to handle and excel with calculated risks.
