Washing clothes is a chore. The majority of people spend quite a lot of their free time loading washing machines, pegging out garments and ironing. Modern technology has meant that doing the laundry is certainly a lot easier than it would have been for people in the past - it was not uncommon for a washing cycle to last almost a week, with soaking, soaping and rising clothes performed by hand, not to mention drying using a mangle. By the time one lot of washing was ready, it was time for the next cycle to begin. Washing machines and tumble dryers can take a lot of the time and effort out of keeping clothes pristine, but it is accepted that drying clothes the traditional way is more economical.

In the United Kingdom, the weather is difficult to predict, even in the summer months, so pegging washing outside can be a risky business. It can be most frustrating to spend quite a long time placing all your clothes on the line to dry on a clear morning, only to go out for the day and for rain to begin. Going home and taking soggy or even drenched clothes back indoors again to drape on radiators or place in the tumble dryer is irritating at best and even depressing at times. There is, however, a way to solve some of these washing woes - a portable dryer can be placed outside in the sun, and can be folded and carried back in when clouds come over, meaning that it is convenient and quick to keep your clothes dry.

A portable dryer can be used indoors as well as outside. If it is raining or otherwise unsuited to drying out in the garden, the portable dryer can be set up in a utility room, a spare room, or anywhere that there is space! If the weather improves later in the day, it is easy to transport the dryer outside. These items are also particularly useful for those in flats or maisonette who do not have access to outdoor space in which to hang their washing out. Once the portable dryer has been finished with, it can fold down completely for ease of storage.

People today often have very busy lives and it is not uncommon for both parents in a family to work full time. This means that time spent with family can be shorter than is desirable, and means that families tend to make full use of modern conveniences to make household chores quicker and easier. Spending quality time with loved ones is important to the wellbeing of most people, and can help to relieve the stress of work and commuting and remind individuals of why they work so hard in the first place. It is safe to assume that in the future there will probably be more time saving devices, and more economical ways of drying clothes quickly than tumble dryers, but in the meantime, a portable dryer can make a lot of difference to how and when you can do your washing.
