Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tickets - Mike Williams Is A Good Late-round Pick

In a fairly stacked division, the Buccaneers have a bevy of young talent this year

that will be thrust into prominent roles on a team looking to find its identity. Let's take a look at the top fantasy options available in 2010.

Kellen Winslow, Tight End:

Winslow proved in 2007 that he has the talent to be one of the elite tight ends in the league, though he's struggled a bit without a consistent quarterback to get him the ball. That year, Winslow put up 1,106 yards receiving to go along with five scores. Last season on a fairly lackluster offense, Winslow was the leading receiver on the team with 77 catches for 884 yards and five touchdowns, suggesting that he remains a very good tight end option. With young quarterback Josh Freeman just starting to get a feel for the offense, it seems likely that he will continue to hook up with Winslow as his safety valve. Though not an upper echelon tight end, Winslow still projects as a very good second tier option who has elite talent.

Projection: 75 catches, 925 yards, six touchdowns.

Cadillac Williams, Running Back:

2005 certainly feels like a long time ago when looking at the career of Cadillac Williams. That year, Williams exploded onto the scene as a rookie by racking up 1,178 yards rushing and six touchdowns, making it seem that he was a superstar on the rise. But Williams' hard-nosed style of running proved to be too much for his body to handle and he's been banged up considerably in his five years in the league, though he did finally play 16 games last season. Even with a low per carry average in 2009, Williams still was a valuable fantasy player last year as he had more than 1,000 combined yards and seven total touchdowns. Those aren't numbers that should have you looking to take Williams early in the draft but he also should have solid value in the mid to late rounds.

Projection: 1,100 combined yards, six total touchdowns.

Mike Williams, Wide Receiver:

As a fourth round rookie, Williams isn't the type of guy who is going to sell a ton of Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets, though he'll definitely have an impact on the team. Williams is stepping onto a roster completely devoid of playmakers and looks to be Freeman's number one wideout heading into the start of the season. It's difficult to anticipate what type of production a rookie can put up but few rookie wideouts are in better situations this season than Williams.

Projection: 825 yards, four touchdowns.

Josh Freeman, Quarterback:

Freeman is an absolute wildcard this season. With plenty of size and athleticism, Freeman is one of the more intriguing quarterbacks this year and has plenty of upside, though he's still very unproven and on a team without a lot of playmakers. Last year, his rookie season, Freeman played in 10 games and put together a QB rating of 59.8%, which isn't exactly great but also not out of the ordinary for a young signal caller.

The highlights of his season include a three touchdown passing performance in a win against Green Bay and strong performances in wins against eventual Super Bowl champion New Orleans and Seattle. Freeman obviously has to develop his abilities to read coverages and stand strong in the pocket, but he has the arm strength and athleticism to be a good quarterback in the league if he can get a feel for the speed change from college to the NFL.
