An automated process using computers is nowadays used to make far better looking caps or crowns. Various materials are used for the preparation of crowns and they range from gold to porcelain depending on patient requirements. A bridge is used to mainly fill the gap caused by missing teeth and the process uses taking support from adjacent teethes. The tooth that is used to get the support from is called abutments. A veneer is a superficial thin covering material used over the surface used to protect damaged or broken teeth. The material types that are mostly used consist of porcelain or composite. Depending on the nature of damage it may be required to remove a tooth to create sufficient gap for putting in the restorative material or sometimes it can be done without removal.
