. era and have created an everlasting appeal throughout the world. These works of art were once created and reserved for the men and women in power and used to decorate and adorn banquet halls and the palaces and castles of the rich and powerful. However, as time went on, many began to create works of art such as these for other people than kings and emperors although the patrons still tended to be more affluent than not. It was not until the fifteenth and sixteenth century when the mass production of textiles came about that these forms of art began to be seen in community markets for the common person to purchase. From there, the tapestry would become a corner stone hung on the walls of houses throughout the world.

Works of art that are considered original usually come with a hefty price tag, especially if they were created many years ago. However, there are still many places throughout the world that one can find original tapestries if he or she is willing to look and sometimes pay a little more than the mass produced pieces. Areas in Africa are still known to hand weave their own cloth and one can find original hand crafted works in these places. Also, there are many people who will travel to these areas to purchase these hand crafted tapestries to import them. Usually, a work that is hand crafted will indicate that with a form of paper or warranty on the product. However, not everyone must have original works of art and simply wish to dress up a room with a few wall hangings.

Many people wish to add depth or a sense of style to the walls of the interior of their homes and look to wall hangings to help with the task. Tapestries that are available for this purpose can be purchased at many different venues such as online stores as well as in home dcor shops across the globe. These types of wall art can be mass produced and do not carry the heavy prices that original hand crafted works do, which make them an enticing alternative to spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on one piece.
