Tata Nano to face competition from Piaggio three seater

Piaggio the world renowned two wheeler manufacturer is coming with an all new three seater car coded as NT3 and is looking forward to capture the potential mini car market in India which is currently dominated by Tata Nano. Piaggio is an Italian company which has global recognition in producing motorcycles and scooters. In the Milan Bike show, Piaggio, the European leader in the two wheelers, unveiled the mini car which is coded as NT3. As per the sources, the company will launch the three seater car in India, South East Asia and Vietnam as these markets holds a major chunk in the mini car segment. The potential of investment is quite safe as the market for mini cars is ever increasing. Piaggio has a well established fully owned subsidiary in India, Piaggio India Ltd, which has flagship brand Ape and is the best seller three wheeler brand. Ravi Chopra, MD of Ape Piaggio India Ltd, said in the context of the mini car NT3, that the new car has been manufactured to keep in mind the ever increasing demand of the small cars in India and Vietnam. The company plans to make cost effective technology cars. As per him, Piaggio India Ltd, will be producing competitive cars which will be affixed with advanced technologies and low pricing. The Indian three wheeler producers will face an extensive competition with Tata Nano, which is popularly known as 'People's Cars In India. Till now the cheapest and the smallest car is enjoying its first anniversary in India and despite of various incidents the m'small wonder' still holds customers satisfaction. There are other big players such as, Hyundai Motors, General Motors that are planning to launch its mini car. Bajaj Auto makers, the two wheeler manufacturer is also in making of a low cost small car with French car manufacturers, Renu. As per the top executives of the company, the new small car NT3, will be manufactured in the lines of Ape. The new car will be available in three years in India with the price speculated to be Rs 1.5 lacs which is way less than the others currently available. The length of the micro car NT3, will be 2.4 m and will have a 200cc engine which will accelerate upto 60 km/hr and the other one expected to be of 300 cc engine accelerating upto 80 km/hr which is speculated to have a hybrid variant operated with electric motor. The mini cars are a revolution as they are cost effective, low maintenance. The manufacturers are planning to launch the new cars with advanced technology and various other added features. The small cars also help prevent traffic congestion which is a great problem in European and Asian countries. These cars are made to reduce consumption and pollution and can cover a distance of 30 km per litre.
