When I talk about "real" artwork, I mean one thing: Artwork that was drawn and made to truly be made into a real tattoo. Perhaps you weren't even aware that the vast majority of online tattoo arts were never intended to be made real. Most of the designs you see at small websites are drawn by some random dude who has absolutely no skill in making something so that it transfers perfectly once somebody decides to put it on their body. Even if they were exceptional artistes, they might like the unique touch that would make tattoos for guys look exactly like tattoos for guys.

Then what happens. What happens is that someone who like the way the design looks onscreen and on-paper could believe it would work on their skin too. No sooner is it on their skin than they suddenly realize it was all wrong and start to loathe it. No longer does it even appear like what they saw before. There is something wrong with the coloring.
