Teach me how to Thom Yorke

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has been spotted various times handing out newspapers throughout East London, according to celebrity news outlets, as part of the promotional campaign for the recently released Radiohead album The King of Limbs. The free newspapers, called The Universal Sigh, include poetry, short stories, nature articles, and a host of other artistic endeavours the band thought important to include.

The King of Limbs was recently released online in a similar style as their last album, In Rainbows, costing as little as 6.00 for the MP3 version or up to 33.00 for the package deal including the digital version, a vinyl album, a CD, and plenty of other goodies.

The music video for the single, Lotus Flower, was released a short time ago and is now a viral smash on YouTube. To summarise, it is five minutes and eight seconds of that sweet, sweet vibrato coupled with plenty of incredible dance moves that would make Napoleon Dynamite proud. There is everything from Michael Jackson-like hip thrusts to a few steps that bear a strange resemblance to the chicken impersonations from the American TV show Arrested Development.

Dub versions have been created by fans that have Yorke dancing to everything from Beyonce's Single Ladies' to the Brazilian hit Sou Foda' by Avassalador. The "Thom Yorke" is sure to be the latest dance craze, but just in case it doesn't catch on, here are a couple of other YouTube dances that you may want to practise before hitting the club this weekend.

The Dougie

Cali Swag District came out with this gem, Teach Me How To Dougie,' in early 2010 and it has since taken America by storm, especially in the clubbing scene. Celebrity gossip sites are reporting that everyone from irresistibly cute four-year-olds to superstar athletes are doing "The Dougie" whenever they get the chance. Good luck figuring out how to do it, however, as the chorus continuously asks how to Dougie but the video never really shows exactly how to break it down. It's all in the arms. Maybe.

The Bernie

Another gem from the hip hop subculture in the U.S. that is slowly making the rounds into the mainstream is Moving Like Bernie' by I.S.A. Entirely based on the 1980s cult classic movie Weekend at Bernie's, in which a corporate hot shot dies and is then paraded around town by two young employees in order to keep out of trouble for his death, this is a pretty easy one that anyone can do, dead or alive. Can't figure it out? Well, like the lyrics say just "hold your head back like a nose bleed's coming through." After that, it's all rhythm.

If you still can't manage either of these, go ahead and stick with the Thom Yorke. You can do the Yorke to just about any song, fast or slow, so no need to change your style up when the beat changes. Celebrities everywhere are soon to catch onto the new dance craze that will no doubt take the UK by storm.
