Highway Patrol officers anticipate charging a driver who allowed minor passengers to go without seatbelts in a vehicle that blew a tire on U.S

. 52 this past week. A six-year-old boy sustained injury when he was ejected from the Geo Tracker that was on its way to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

The vehicle blew a tire while in the left lane of the highway near Midway. When the tire blew, the car traveled into the right lane, crashed into the guardrail, careened out of control, and finally landed on the median. In addition to the boy, a teenage girl was also ejected onto the grassy median and likewise sustained an injury.
