Over a period of time, the dentin layer which lies just under the enamel is also bleached. Many dentists recommend this kind of take-home kit and maintain that they yield the best results over time. It's necessary to leave some gels on for an hour while others should be kept on overnight. Some people are wary about using these products at home but used correctly, there really is nothing to worry about. And take-home kits do offer many advantages including long term results, convenience, portability and cost. While over the counter teeth whitening products range is price from $4 to $100, the same service at the dentist's office can cost up $400. For the best results there are a few guidelines. First go to the dentist and get a prophylactic clean. Brush and floss before applying the teeth whitening product and avoid dark foods. Stick to these rules and you'll be amazed at the difference teeth whitening can make in your life.
