Guruvayoor Temple


Guruvayoor Temple, also known as the Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu; it is known to be the five most revered Vishnu-Krishna temples in India. This temple well known for its master craftsmanship is known to have numerous alluring features and one of them is the sculpture of the main deity carved out of rare material called Pathanlanjana Sila. This temple is also popularly known as Dwarka of the South and Lord Krishna here is worshipped by different names. Guruvayoor also has legends of its own that are worth proclaiming, a strict dress code has to be followed here by all the devotees, and this temple is a true symbol of spirituality.

Mannarsala Snake Temple

As a pilgrimage center for the snake charmers and the devotees of serpent god Nagaraja, Mannarsala Snake Temple is an ancient renowned temple nestled in a forest glade in the Alleppey. This temple has more than 30,000 images of all varieties of highly poisonous and non poisonous snakes that are found on earth, several of them being the mythical snakes. This temple has lot of spiritual relevance attached to it like the women seeking children come to this temple for blessings of Nagaraja and once they bear a child they come back to this temple to offer thanks by donating snake images to this temple. Medicines are available in this temple for snake bites and skin ailments, this temple with its own legends attached is an interesting place to visit.
