All the fashion editors are saying the same thing: the recession is teaching us to concentrate on buying a few key pieces for the season and to accessorise, accessorise, accessorise rather than buy lots of different items that will be worn for only a few short months, or even weeks! And by accessories they mean more than just bags or boots. They mean jewellery too. Here are my top ten tips for choosing jewellery that will give your look a stylish update without breaking the bank: 1) Do not be tempted by cheap mass produced fashion jewellery. It wont last and youll be sick of it after just a few wears. 2) Make sure your jewellery suits you. If you are big busted, go for necklaces that stop before your heaving bosom or land well beyond it. 3) Never wear a chain so it pokes over the top of a roll neck jumper. That is just wrong. Keep it hidden next to your skin and wear a long chunky necklace over the top instead. 4) If you are not too confident about your neck, buy necklaces that sit below your collarbone to draw the eye downwards. If your neck is one of your best assets, show it off with a shorter necklace or choker. 5) Choose jewellery in semi-precious stones in colours that complement your clothes or look good against your skin. 6) Be different. Choose unique handmade items.
