Tender Process for Licensed Facility within Sydney Olympic Park

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority has initiated a Tender Process seeking detailed proposals from entities with the capability to construct and operate a new licensed facility.

Sydney proudly hosted the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. These Games provided the world with some of the greatest sporting and entertainment events ever witnessed in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Both Games were a great success and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games were declared as "the best Games ever" by IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch. The 2000 Games were known for the numerous Australian, Olympic, Paralympic and World records that were broken.

Following the Games, the area became known as Sydney Olympic Park and an internationally admired example of sustainable urban renewal and development. In 2001, Sydney Olympic Park Authority was established as a statutory authority responsible for managing and developing 640 hectares of land that is Sydney Olympic Park.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority is responsible for managing and developing the 640-hectares that comprise the Park and maintain it as a lasting legacy for the people of New South Wales. Around 10 million people visit Sydney Olympic Park annually to play sport, picnic in the parklands, ride a bicycle, attend a multicultural festival, take part in one of our many educational programs, attend a concert or watch world-class sporting events.

The Park has evolved into a vibrant specialist economic centre, with over 120 organisations and approximately 10,000 employees and more commercial developments approved for completion by the end of 2012. The continued enhancement of Sydney Olympic Park will enrich the lives of those who live, work, play and learn at the Park. In 2009 the NSW Government approved the adoption of Sydney Olympic Park as an official suburb.

Sydney Olympic Park has seen more than a $1 billion in development projects, including office buildings, hospitality venues, education facilities, retail spaces, recreational amenities and 685 residential apartments currently under construction.

The coming years will see the Sydney Olympic Park community grow immensely as development projects covering 1.4 million square metres deliver nine combined commercial and residential neighbourhoods. Development sites have been earmarked for serviced apartments and more commercial offices with retail facilities.

To continue the success of Sydney Olympic Park's transformation into a business and residential hub an opportunity now exists to build own and operate a 1,400 square metre licensed facility within the Park's town centre which will serve the needs of the Park's growing population.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority own the land and have gained development consent and are now seeking detailed proposals from entities with the capability to construct and operate this new facility. Contact the Sydney Olympic Park Authority to register your interest in this Tender Process.
