Test Your Home Water Supply Before You Choose A Water Filter
With so many contaminates that are getting into our water systems these days
, it makes you wonder whether any of it is really safe to drink even when it comes from your city water system. There have been some startling and scary reports made recently that show that many water supplies from city systems can still contain large quantities of things like drugs that are no completely removed in the treatment plant facilities.
It is no secret that frogs and fish are being found deformed in our lakes, rivers and streams these days. Of course, this is due to the large amounts of contaminants in the water they are breeding and growing in. Could humans be headed for the exact same thing because even our treated water supplies are still contaminated? Anyone that is logical and does not keep their head buried in the sand knows that we are already probably seeing evidence of human problems because of nasty water. We have become so accustomed to turning on the tap and getting a glass of water, trusting that it is clean enough for consumption, that up until recently we did not even give it a thought. Taking for granted that your home water supply is safe just because it has been treated at your local water plant can be a big mistake.
This is the very reason that so many health conscious people, especially those with children are purchasing their own home water filtration systems. They put them in their homes so that when they get a glass of water from the device, they are positive that it has been cleaned up to 99% pure depending on the water filter they have purchased. Water filter systems for the home can range in price by a wide margin and it is important that you do enough research on each filter system you are considering purchasing. Knowing what bacteria and toxins each filter is capable of removing is essential in order to get the filter you need for your individual home.
Before you decide which water filter you might need to purchase, you can have your water at homes tested. You can send a sample to an independent lab or use your own local water treatment facility to have it done. Yo might want to get an unbiased an accurate report, so an independent lab might be a good source to use. You might be very surprised to find that what you thought was clean drinking water coming into your home is really not fit for human consumption.
