This program is called the text4baby' program and it started on February of 2010; this program has been established to give the mothers the needed information that they need so that they will be able to take care of their baby excellently. The subscribers to this program will get a free text message every week about how they will be able to make sure that the health of their baby is at its best.

The good thing about this text messaging program is that it relates to whatever the mother is going through at a specific point of her pregnancy; like for example if she is already on her 8th week, the tips that she will be receiving has something to do with what most mothers are experiencing on their 8th week of pregnancy. The special thing about this program is that it uses text messaging as its primary medium to send out all the important information. They believe that text messaging is the best medium because they will be able to control when to send the messages to mothers on a particular week of their pregnancy; this is something that they will not be able to do using books or web sites.

The most surprising thing about this particular text messaging program is that other institutions have also helped with it such as Healthy Babies Coalition and National Health Mothers; they have ensured that it will be possible for these mothers-to-be to receive text messages about how to take care of their baby without having to spend a single dollar for it. Aside from the fact that using text messaging as their primary medium allows them to control the when they want the subscribers to receive their messages, they also believe that because more than 90 percent of the entire population of the United States of America is using a mobile phone, text messaging will be a really effective medium. This is so most especially because most of the mothers-to-be out there are on their late teens, and most of the teens are into using their cell phones most of the time. A lot of the experts have been very cooperative with this program because they feel that the power of text messages to a lot of both young and old mothers out there is really strong due to the sudden surge of technology and how it has been controlling the live of many.

No one will ever think that something as convenient, economical and easy as a text message will be able to save the lives of a lot of babies in the United States. But because the people who have power were able to use its benefits for the right purpose, a lot are already being saved and benefitting from the advantages that it brings.
