The speeding ticket industry is roughly an 8 to 9 billion dollar industry in the United States. This money brings a lot of revenue into town and cities.
Many cities and towns use the revenue to fund their local government, police force, garbage pickup or any type of function that needs money.
One way to avoid getting a speeding ticket is to get a radar detector, it is not perfect but it will limit the number of tickets. The only way not to get a ticket is to go the speed limit.
