1.Thou shalt not keep telling your ex how much you love them. Your ex will only care how he or she feels about you at this stage. What you feel is largely irrelevant, the hurt is too much right now for them to care about how you feel.

2.Thou shalt not beg. You want some dignity left, do not beg your ex to come back. The more you beg and the more desperate you seem the further you will drive your ex away.

3.Thou shalt not argue. Arguing creates tension and stress and is a total turn off. You want to get back with your ex not make them hate you! Even if you think you are right, bow out gracefully. It will make your ex wonder what you are up to if nothing else!

4.Thou shalt not try using guilt trips. No one can successfully make someone feel guilty enough to come back permanently. Playing the guilt card is more likely to make your ex resentful and drive them further away.

5.Thou shalt not be a gloom monger. I know how down and depressed you feel, Ive been there. Do not act depressed, even if your ex does feel sorry for you, sympathy is no building block for a renewed relationship.

6.Thou shalt not bargain with your ex. Things will not be different this time; you havent changed in the few hours/days since you broke up. Whatever the reason that broke up your relationship needs working on, your empty words are not work.

7.Thou shalt not shower your ex with gifts. You might win a short term reprieve but long term you can not buy your ex back.

8.Thou shalt not try and be logical trying to win back your ex. Love is not logical, it is based on feelings. It wont matter how logical your argument is, your ex will not come back if the attraction and feelings are not right.

9.Thou shalt not ask your friends to plead with your ex on your behalf. If your ex wants to come back their motivation to do it must come from them. External pressure rarely works and it makes you look desperate. Desperation is a turn off.

10.Thou shalt not try and push your ex into getting back together. Keep pushing and your ex will pull further away each time.
