If you're anything like me then you will have tried a TON of different weight-loss programs with varying degrees of success. When I received a promotional copy of the 180 degree metabolism diet I was understandably a little bit sceptical.
The 180 degree metabolism diet promises to change the way that you lose weight forever. Yeah, I've heard that before! By ditching the traditional Drop calories - Lose weight' approach author Matt Stone claims that you can keep off those extra pounds.
Scientific research has shown that when you eat less calories over a period of time, your metabolic rate drops. This is sometime referred to as going into starvation mode'. A problem that many have had with diets in the past, myself included, is that once you enter this starvation mode your body tries to hold on to every calorie that you consume. This can often lead to the weight piling back on and even more cravings for high-fat treats.
The idea behind Matt Stone's method is that you can change your metabolism by changing the way you think, rather than the way you eat. Apparently, the chemistry in your body will alter because of this and you will be able to keep off the pounds. A way to alter your own eating instincts then? Interesting.
If it means no more starvation, exercise and unhappiness then I'm willing to give it a try. I still need to read up on all the ins and outs so I'll write again and tell you about the results.
