This vehicle would also be a great for a dog owner who likes to take his or her dog along for the ride since the Element offers a Dog Friendly Package. On the exterior the Element is rather boxy and square and definitely does stand out on the road due to its unique shape and form. It's a cinch to unload cargo due to the wide doors. This vehicle competes in the affordable compact SUV niche with cars such as the Kia Soul, Toyota Rav4 and Subaru Forester.

The engine isn't super powerful but more than enough for every day driving. It's a V4 2.4 Liter which outputs 166 hp and utilizes a 16 valve DOHC i-Vtec . It goes from 0-60 mph in just 10 seconds. Fuel economy stands at 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg for the front-wheel-drive model. The weight for this auto is 3,500 lbs which is rather on the heavy side and towing capacity is up to 1500 lbs. The ride is on the firm side and steering is very precise. It isn't exactly the fastest SUV around town but acceleration is fairly brisk and power is more than ample for use as an every day car.

One very cool and special option that this auto offers is its Dog-Friendly-Package. This includes a rear kennel, soft bed, a spill proof drinking bowl, a stowable ramp, dog patterned seat covers, and a fan to keep your pet nice and cool. Now you can easily take Fido along on any outdoors activities such as camping, or going to the beach. You have the option of selecting from three trim levels; LX, EX and SC. The EX trims includes satellite radio, sixteen inch alloy, audio knobs on the steering wheel and vanity mirrors. An optional navigation system and a USB interface can also be added at an extra price.

On the inside, the Element is spacious and built for functionality and practicality. Seats are comfortable with sufficient space to seat four people. The trunk space is massive with seventy five cubic feet available (with the rear seats removed) in order to store all your belongings. The versatile cargo design allows users to fold or even remove the rear seats for even more space.

Many safety mechanisms are in place such as air bags and side-impact door beams. Vehicle Stability Assist helps to regain control and stability during oversteer or understeer situations. The Anti Lock Brake System allows for better control during hard braking. The IIHS awarded the Element as the top safety pick for the year of 2010.

This is a compact SUV which would complement an active lifestyle due to the fact that it's so functional, easy to clean and offers so much trunk space. If you go to the beach on a frequent basis or participate in any other outdoors activities it will be fairly easy to clean out the floors once you are finished. The base price for the Element is around the twenty thousand dollar range and may vary depending on the trim and options selected. All in all, a solid price for a practical and utilitarian SUV from Honda.
