The 3 Basic Types Of Muscle Fibers That You Must Know About

The muscle is one important part in our bodies and is responsible for movement mainly

. We are perhaps more concerned about the muscle development in the body than anything else. The ones concerned with the system are forever exercising, trying to keep it in good shape. But did you know that over-exercising can actually damage your muscles? Read on to know more.

There are 3 basic types of Muscle Fibers in our body:

Skeletal Muscles: You must have seen the steel cables which span throughout bridges or better still, the cables that the cranes use. Quite similar to that, the skeletal muscles are built of muscle fibers that group together to form a muscle. As the name suggests, the skeletal muscles are attached to the bones of our body and are connected to them by collagen tissues bundled together, known as tendons.

The skeletal muscles are further classified, according to their color popularly. These are the red and white fibers. The skeletal muscles are striated and are controlled by the somatic nervous system.

Cardiac Muscles: As the name suggests, this muscle type is found on the walls of the heart and bears resemblance to the skeletal muscles due to the striations. Both of them significantly differ from the smooth muscle type-the 3rd type. The cardiac muscles are responsible for the periodic contractions taking place in the heart. Maintenance of such muscles is extremely important considering the consequences, if the heart stops beating!

The protein content in the heart muscle filaments is the most amongst the 3 major groups of muscles. This means that high-protein diet does a good job in promoting the regeneration and repair of the cells and tissues of the cardiac muscle system.

Smooth Muscles: The rest of the muscle system of the body falls under this group. For example, the muscles of the arteries and veins, uterus, urinary bladder, etc. they are not so prominent like the other 2 muscle groups and are single layered only. Among the 3 muscle groups, the protein content is the least in this type and has a tendency to bind fat.

Fat marbling may be good for the meat that we eat but not for ourselves deposition of fat on the arteries and veins may lead to cardiac arrests in the severe form.

MMA training workouts help you to build your muscles. No wonder,

cardio workouts, seem clearer to you! Doesnt it? Train your muscles which are the most important parts in your body and help you recover from injuries faster. For this, have a balanced diet which is rich in proteins and other vitamins and you will find that your muscles respond better than ever before!
