The 3 Keys To Content Success
Content serves two important purposes, to attract the search engines and to please your readers
. Great content will establish your credibility, increase your site's popularity and allow you to sell more products. Here are the three keys to content success.
1. Research your niche
Start with a keyword research tool, Google has one you can use for free, and look for popular keywords in your niche. By using keywords in your content you are helping the search engines to better understand your content and to hopefully encourage them to rank it. You are more likely to rank for keywords that have a low level of competition from other websites.
Trust me, there is no need to stuff your article with the same keyword repeating it in each and every sentence. Search engines prefer to rank well researched and well written content. Don't forget that the search engine has to serve it's customers; the people who are searching, if they serve up rubbish content the customer will just go and use a different search engine provider.
2. Don't forget your reader
Always put your reader first. By writing for a human being instead of a bot your content will be much more enjoyable and compelling. Keep your content interesting and fresh by trying out different styles. You might like to write some how to guides, or lists of great resources. A question and answer format is also worth considering.
Hanging out in a niche forum to see what people are talking about is a great way to get inspiration if you are ever stuck for ideas. What problems and issues do they have? If you know the answers to the questions being asked then you now have something to write about.
3. Recycle your content
You might start out writing content to publish on your own blog based on your keyword research and the problems you unearthed in the forums. But you don't even have to stop there. You can make the content even more valuable to you by recycling it in a number of different ways.
First off you could rewrite the blog post so that you can submit it to an article directory. You could sit in front of your video camera and read the article and then submit the video to YouTube. You could submit your article to a blog carnival to encourage readers to come to your blog.
If you have written a whole series of articles or posts that relate to a similar theme then you could package them up and create an ebook which you can give away for free to build your prospects list or even sell to your blog readers.
