The 4 Keys to a Successful Chiropractic Presentation
The 4 Keys to a Successful Chiropractic Presentation
As a chiropractor, there are infinite opportunities to speak and present your message of health and wellness. The ability to speak to groups of people, allows you to market your health message as well as drive a steady flow of new patients.
Too many chiropractors however, are apprehensive and are insecure and therefore do not take advantage of the best tool to build your practice. There are many key points to a successful presentation, but today I am going to talk about the 4 most important ones.
1) You need to have a clear structure. Make sure you are crystal clear about what you are presenting. Keep it simple, yet give your audience something that they will remember for a long time. A strong opening is very important to let the audience know what to expect from your presentation.
2) Know your audience. Do your homework! Research the company or group on the internet to see what their beliefs, values, goals, and competition are. I will use this information in my presentation when making comparisons or relating to examples. Some of the companies have very well established health and wellness programs and I will make sure to edify them.
3) Use memorable stories to build rapport. All great presenters are wonderful storytellers. How does your story resonate with the group? Far too often, chiropractors are guilty of just throwing out facts and statistics. Its not about how much information you know and can recite. It is about how you are unique and provide a service that they cannot find elsewhere. I always utilize testimonials in my presentations to get this point across. One story I always tell when I am speaking to corporate or community groups is of a great miracle we achieved with a young child we had in our office. It is not a typical case that most would relate to what a chiropractor would see, but, it opens peoples eyes to what the possibilities are.
4) Make an emotional connection. First of all, do not overuse powerpoints. Too many times, presenters and speakers have 30 slides that basically has everything on them that they are presenting. It is best to make you and your speaking the draw and have 10 -12 slides that allow for some visual aids. Remember, you are the expert!
