So lose those flyer templates and develop one of your own from the ground up. Trust me, it is well worth it to get that extra attention this holiday market season.

2.Using typical designs Another typical mistake that you might want to avoid is the use of typical designs. During the holidays many designers just go for the usual holiday design mode, with red and green color themes, silver bells and gold ribbons. This may be usually good, but it is also fairly common nowadays. To make a great color flyer you do not want to be common. You want to be unique and original. So never try to always reinvent the holidays each year. Try out new color themes, even try to recreate a traditional symbol. Just try to make your color calendars look fresher and you will get more responses from them. Avoid all those typical designs that will only make your color flyer get ignored.

3.Not using images Now, for many amateurs, color flyers do not really need images. Or if they do, they just need a little symbol to make them decent. This might be true for most market flyers throughout the year. In the holiday market season however, this wont do. You will be competing with a lot of other color flyers in the holidays since there is a larger more responsive market at this time. You will need those special, enticing and original images for people to engage with and remember your color flyers. So never try to cheapen your catalogs by not using images. 4.Printing with cheap materials Lastly, never ever print color flyers with cheap materials during the holiday season. People judge a lot by the make and finish of most things during the holidays. A custom flyer made by cheap materials means that, for them, the product or service being advertised there is also something cheap. You will want to impress your market with the best materials possible for this to not occur. So make sure you spend as much as you can on those flyer printing materials
