The Acer beTouch E110 Is A Feature Packed Mobile Phone by:Chris Westley

Acer have recently been putting a lot of effort into the production of their touch screen smart phones

. The Acer beTouch E110 is certainly an impressive handset offering Android Operating System, digital camera and touch screen technology. Due for release in March 2010, it looks set to be a popular handset.

The handset unit measures 103.5x54x13.4mm and weighs a reasonably lightweight 105 grams. It is therefore a comfortable handset to hold and use. A 2.8 TFT resistive touch screen dispays all 256,000 of its available colours at 240x320 pixels ensuring bright, clear display of on screen images.

To alert user to incoming calls and messages, the vibration works alongside ringing with the option to customise the phone by assigning MP3 files as ringtones. A speakerphone and 3.5mm audio jack provide option for hands free communication whilst on the move.

256MB RAM and 256MB RAM provide internal storage for data such as media files. Should more space be required, a micro SD slot allows a memory card of a larger capacity to be installed.

Where little or no 3G coverage is available, class 10 GPRS and EDGE provide the main method of connecting to networks. Where 3G is available, a HSDPA connection is available at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps along with HDUPA at up to 384Kbps. Bluetooth v2.0 offers a convenient method of file transfer between compatible handsets in the same vicinity. Finally, a USB v2.0 connection finishes off the list of connectivity features. This allows media files to be transferred to and from a computer allows backup of data such as contacts.

The phone's media player supports a wide range of both music and video file playback. Other entertainment options include stereo FM radio player and a range of games.

A digital camera boasting 3.15 mega pixels is built in allowing still images of a reasonably high quality to be taken. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and also features the ability to shoot video as an alternative to taking photographs.

A list of applications makes this handset versatile and desirable. Voice memo recorder and a document viewer will prove handy for many users, whereas fans of social networking will appreciate social networking integration which allows direct access to websites such as FaceBook.

The renowned Android Operating System runs the user interface, in this case it is version 1.5 (Cupcake). Coupled with a 416MHz processor, the user interface is fast and smooth.
