The lessons he learns include the importance of paying attention to the signs in our life, and that it is our responsibility to follow our dreams, our inner vision, because that is how we become whole.

Our dreams are sacred and powerful, and we must do all that we can to follow our calling. An Apache shaman once said, A man not living his vision is living death. I believe this is true. This quote may not be as poetic as the quotes in The Alchemist, but it is profoundly wise and has layers of meanings.
