The Amazing World of Blogging

In the days before computers, the internet, faxes and email, there were very few options for anyone to "get things off their chest". Therefore writing about whatever it was bugging you and getting it published. One of the few options was writing a letter to the editor. Either your local paper, your favorite magazine or the national paper. And of course, you had to write long hand or if you could afford a typewriter, type it. Then, find an envelope, buy a stamp and then make your way to one of a few mailboxes and mail it.

Now we have the magic of blogging. Having grown up in the non-computer world, it has taken me a long time to get the hand of computerization and it's love child, the Internet. Now it is as simple as one,two, three, to get what bugs me out into the world by way of one of my several blogs and, I don't have to worry about being approved.

Blogs are amazing. I don't know how many there are out there now but it must be dozens of hundreds if not, thousands. Of course, the chances of your own blog becoming a world-wide phenomenon is small to none, however, if you love writing, you love getting "things of your chest" and love seeing yourself in print, blogging is for you. And, itis so simple. You don't have to have a website designed, you don't even have to builda website on one of the do-it-yourself platforms. Just log onto one of the many free blogging sites out there and away you go. As simple as ABC.

The truly amazing aspect to blogging is you can now get paid for it. If you use a service like Blogger, sign up with Chitika and they will place advertising on your blog or blogs. Just open a Blogger account and a Chitika accountand follow the instructions.

Of course, to publish a blog is one thing;to then build traffic to your blog is another. Best way to start is to write at least one posting a week and email the blog to your friends and relatives on a weekly basis. Ask if they would forward it to their address book. If your postings are interesting, helpful and somewhat controversial, all the better.

Of course, you must be able to write and write coherently. And, write regularly. You won't build a following if you write one posting a month. To become successful, check out many of the successful blogs and emulate them.
