We've all done it

We've all done it. We've been attracted to a sales page, got excited about the product while reading it, and then hovered. Every visitor has worries about the action of buying. It's the job of your sales page not only to persuade the visitor to buy but also that they can have confidence in buying.

1 Show or tell them you're one with them. In other words, you're just like the visitor. For example, if the product is about traffic generation, explain how you too used to have this gigantic problem of a website with no traffic and no sales. Preferably, tell your story, which should be true, of what you felt and thought in that situation. Identify with them so they'll identify with you.

2 Show or tell them how you got round the problem. This conveys your authority in this area. You've been through this process so now they don't have to. Give some details of the stages of thinking, feeling and actions you went through to reach success. Again, this should be true although, of course, you can dramatise it for persuasive effect.

3 Social proof. Give social proof, if you can, with testimonials, evidence of earnings and changes that have happened since you solved the problem. You could give facts and figures about how many people have benefited from your product and in what ways. Use numbers where you can.

4 List the benefits. Visitors will have read this far because they're interested in what's in it for them. So show them by giving all the benefits they will get for their business when they buy your product.

5 Tell them. Don't hesitate at the end. You must directly tell them to click on the buy button. They need to know exactly what to do at that point. You could also tell them what will happen once they've done that so they know what to expect.
