You must take the time of year into account, along with the time of day, and the social setting in which it is to be used. You also need to keep in mind the mood that you want to establish with your fragrance. Remember the impression that you want to make on those that you will come into contact with.

Remember that your fragrance will be the personification of your own personality. If you like it then it will speak of you. When you wear it you definitely want to make the best impression possible. Remember that your sense of smell will become dulled to the fragrance as time goes on but it will be fresh and new to the people who you come in contact with. Some people cant tolerate much odor because they have a very keen sense of smell. Some may have allergies which cause them to have an adverse reaction to anything but the mildest of scents.

When you apply perfumes or colognes be aware of your body chemistry and whatever other cosmetic products that you may use at the same time that you wear your fragrance. Make sure that your body chemistry is stable. Look at things such as your diet. Has it been constant over the last few days? Make sure that all of your other personal habits have been constant over the same period of time. Have you begun an exercise regimen lately? Have you been spending time in the sauna? Have you been ill? I am throwing all of these things out there to make you aware of how a change in habit can cause your favorite scent to smell different on you.

If you use other cosmetic products at the same time make sure that they are unscented. If they are scented they must be scented with the same scent as your perfume or cologne. If you use lotion, use unscented lotion. If you are wearing perfume oils you can use a little bit of the oil in your favorite unscented lotion. The advantage of doing this is that it will give you a layered effect which will greatly enhance your perfume or cologne fragrance if you do it right.

When you apply perfume or cologne to your body, the best time is after a bath or shower. You should apply it to pulse points to maximize its effect. Pulse points are places where the arteries come close to the skin or where the skin retains heat. The heat causes the fragrance to dissipate into the air which maximizes its effect. This is especially good when you use scented oils because the oil requires natural body heat to dissipate the scent. A list of pulse points includes the wrists, crook of the elbow, bottom of the neck, armpits (when you are using unscented deodorant), between or under the breasts for women, inside the thighs and knees, the groin, and ankles.

I once had a customer from Jamaica show me an application which is popular there. They will take coconut oil and rub a small amount on the hair. I tried this and it does produce an excellent effect. I would recommend this to you to try sometimes as a test. I have also tried this with other fragrances and it seems to work well with them also. Some will practice spraying a fragrance into the air and walking through it. Personally I dont apply it this way but you can try it and if it works for you go for it. Fragrance Oil Express
