The Average Hearing Aid Cost For Some Designs
A hearing aid is used by individuals who have some issues with their ability to hear
. These issues usually result to difficulty in distinguishing sounds and noises as well as partial deafness. Not all issues with the auditory senses results to deafness, some individuals cannot hear low frequency or high frequency sounds and still need the help of instruments to be able to function well in everyday life. There are several kinds of designs that people who have difficulty with their auditory sense can choose from.
Some of the more common ones are the Behind-the-Ear, In-the-Ear and In-the-Canal gadgets. There are also some implants that can be implanted into the canal to facilitate better reception of sounds and noises. Audiologists are the experts who can test, assess and recommend the right hearing aid for each individual. There are eyes, ears, nose and throat doctors who can also evaluate a person and recommend treatment for his or her auditory condition but for those who have something wrong with their ability to hear, they should consult audiologists. These experts know their way around the auditory senses and the instruments commonly used to test the sense as well as the gadgets used to improve the person's ability to hear. One of the hindrances for some people regarding getting this type of device is the price of one.
BTE
The Behind-the-Ear device basically costs around $1,200 - $2,000. There are a couple of designs for this type of device. There is the open-fit and the one with the mold design. Both have similar costs and have similar benefits. They are basically the sturdiest and easiest to use. This type of hearing aid might also have some complaints about it being more visible than the rest. This is due to their design that attaches it to the upper outer shape of the auditory organ with tubes running from it to the inner part of the organ. These have more features than the smaller ones because they are large enough to house the additions.
ITE
The In-the-Ear type is convenient because it is attached to the auditory organ by itself with no tubes running to or from it. Most of these types have an average cost of $1,200 - $2,800. They create a less plugged up feel that many of their users appreciate after using the Behind-the-Ear types. They can also carry more features than the smaller ones that are available in the market today.
CIC
The Completely-in-the-Canal type of hearing aid is more aesthetically pleasing than the others. The reason behind this is because of the smaller size that it comes in. It can cost around $1,300 - $2,000 for each individual piece. The size of the device can be a drawback also because it can only house a small battery which means it has limited power and needs to be changed regularly. Due to it being stuck in the canal, making it less visible, it can create a plugged up feeling that can be bothersome for many.
