Throughout 1970s Lego play sets became more sophisticated, incorporating Lego people and motorized parts. These additions made Lego even more popular, allowing for a greater level of realistic play. In 1979 A third Christiansen, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, was named CEO of Lego Group.
Under Kjeld's leadership through the 1980s Lego sets incorporated themes so that more specific role playing games would be encouraged. The Lego space set was especially popular, and set the stage for a multitude of Lego themes throughout the years. The blooming computer age of the 1980s added to the Lego arsenal of play. Computer technology was successfully incorporated into Lego, resulting in the first Lego robots.
The decade of the 1990s saw further enhancements in the computer technology in Lego, in addition to specialization of theme sets. With the first time sets, were being particularly promoted to girls, with specific colors and themes created to feed the conventional family dream. The Lego Belville line showcased nuclear family themes, princesses, horses and other moments typical to the little girl creativity.
In 1998 Lego energized its endeavors in robotic toys, and managed it again in 2006 with the kick off of the current Mindstorms Robot. 1998 was also when Lego and Lucas film LTD came down to current market the latest Star Wars Lego.
