. The aim and mission of every union may vary, however, the basic principles remain the same. As a rule a student union is the organization that is run by students and represents the main organ of students' governance that aims at representing and protecting students' rights and freedoms. The basic principles of every student union are: 1. To enhance the educational, social and cultural life of all students as well as every student in particular. 2. To provide the improvement of the recreational environmental of all student. 3. To take into consideration needs of every student and to encourage students' social, cultural and educational growth. 4. To encourage personal development of every student. 5. To represent the interests of students to the university and its committees. 6. To maintain the cooperation with student unions of other colleges and universities. 7. To arrange the international cooperation with student unions of different countries in order to make its contribution to improving the international friendship. 8. To fight for the racial social and gender equality among students. To fight for the rights of every student for education. As one can see, it is very responsible to be a member of this organization. So, what should you do to become a member of the student union? 1. To have a strong motivation in order to protect and represent rights of students of your university. 2. To be responsible and active. 3. To be ready to represent new ideas that will be useful for the work of the union. 4. To have good skills of teamwork and leadership skills. 5. To be ready to sacrifice your personal interests for the sake of the common well-being.
