Your list is the most valuable thing you can own. The reason is in network marketing you work as an independent contractor, and you do not own the product. This puts us in a very weak position, however you improve you position if you own your own list.

The way your own your own list is to use a reputable autoresponder like Aweber.

The reason you want to own your list, is if anything happens to your company, you still have your contacts of your list. Things do happen to companies, they go out of business, they change their compensation plans, you may choose to leave the company, and they can for any reason they chose get rid of you. If you do not own your own list, you just lost a huge number of people.

However, if any of these things happen and your own your list. Lets your company goes out of business, it is very common. Let say you found a new company you like and have done your due diligence on. Then you can send an e-mail to your list and you can become a top producer in that company overnight. I have seen this happen to a number of people in network marketing.

It is great to have a huge list, but you must build a relationship with that list. If you are not doing anything to build that relationship, you just have a huge list of names and e-mails. You want your list to be very responsive.

Just very quickly, you can do this in several ways. If you have their number call and talk to them. If you only have an e-mail try to find them on social media sites, like Facebook. You can also send a personal e-mail. Granted some people will not respond, but remember you are just one person away from a major breakthrough. You should put some efforts into getting in touch with that person other than your autoresponder.

Money is in your list, but you have to build a relationship with those on your list to earn their trust and have them buy from you. You cant just go build a huge list and make it in this industry. There is a second part of this and that is building relationships with people as you build your list.
