The Basics of Playing Paintball

Paintball is a game that requires individual or team participation. It may be played indoors or outdoors with players numbering from 2 to 500. The game may be played in the field, backyard or woods. It may be played for about 5 minutes or up to hours at a stretch depending on taking or finding something or being the last person to be unmarked in paintballing. There are different strategies which are used in the game from being sneaky and quiet and choosing the shots carefully, to being fast, loud and constantly shooting.

Paintball is a competitive game that is challenging as it has hide-and-seek elements in it and aims to capture the flag. Certain safety equipments also need to be worn in the game like special clothing, goggles etc. an important element in the game is the paintball itself. There are dozens or hundreds of balls which are really tiny containers of paint. The balls are simple with similarity to the bath oil beads. These may be made of colored liquid which is encased in a gelatin shell and are available in different colors which are water-soluble, non toxic and biodegradable.

The weight of the paintballing sphere is identical to that of a tiny water balloon, and weighs a couple of grams. The shell is held up if you drop it from a short height. Once the ball is shot from a gun, it bursts, thus leaving a spatter of paint. The paintball gun is also known as a marker and it is aimed to shoot the ball at high speed. The propulsion system in the gun is made of compressed CO2 gas, ordinary air and nitrogen in large or small tanks which are attached to the gun.

The hopper helps in holding the balls and it is attached to the gun. You need to play the paintball game safely. The power or capacity of the guns is something which is strictly regulated. The guns are adjusted in the course of the game so as to make the maximum speed of the paintball 300 ft per sec. If the ball travels at this speed, it is safer even if the ball hits you with a high intensity. The ball tends to slow down to a certain extent as a result of wind resistance and this is why it has a decreased impact if shot from a great distance.

Other Uses:

A speeding ball of paint can injure the eyes and this is why it is advisable to put on protection. The use of paintballing can be found in areas other than recreational in police and military training. What the gun does is it equips the trainees for handling different kinds of combat situations. Generally, it trains the soldiers in police practice strategy and to not get shot.
