Coding is used throughout the entire medical field to identify specific treatments and services a patient receives. Upon graduating from a program it is possible to obtain a AHIMA certification certificate. There are three main coding certifications available. They are Certified Coding Associate, an entry-level coding certificate; Certified Coding Specialist, above entry-level and Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, certified to work for a doctor, clinics or any similar settings. Once an individual has entered this field, they will often find that more doors are open to them in the healthcare industry.
