I remember the first time I saw an on demand television system
. It was at my sister's house in Arlington, VA. I was visiting from the west coast and in the course of our time together we had ended up missing our favorite television show. My sister told me not to worry as she had recorded it on the satellite dish network system. We were able to watch our show hours after it originally aired. I was amazed and dumfounded. This opened a whole new world to me of television watching possibilities. As soon as I got home I had a dish installed and was able to record what I wanted to watch when I wanted to watch it. I now had hundreds of dish network channels to choose from and found myself immersed in an amazing world of television discovery. Since then I've been able to really see the benefit of having dish network and would never go back to my old days of having to watch whatever is on at a given time.
Having dish network and on demand television has made me a much more selective tv watcher. No longer so I have to sit for hours and wade through a bunch of mindless commercials and stupid sit coms. Now I can record what I want from one of a hundred different channels and watch it when I want to. There are so many incredibly entertaining shows out there like The Soup and Tosh.0 that I love to watch but never have time when they air to sit down. Now I can record them and watch them later on when I have a minute to relax and really enjoy them.
I try not to watch hours of television. Having dish television has allowed me to be very selective about the time and content of television I consume. I now am able to watch only the things that interest me and don't have to put up with a bunch of garbage. I can't wait to start recording fun kid's shows for my children to watch. We aren't going to allow them to watch lots and lots of tv so I want to make sure what they do watch is educational and fun for all of us. Quality television is a great asset to have in our house. I'm so glad I signed up for dish networks channels all those years ago.
