The Best Acne Treatments For Your Skin Type...how To Find The Right One For You
Let's face it
Let's face it. Acne is tough. Finding a cure or at a minimum, some sort of treatment is even tougher. So many things are out there nowadays, which one is right for you? The best acne treatments for me, may differ from what works best for you. But here is my opinion, based on years of fighting this annoying condition. Maybe it may help inspire you to try something different.
The first part of finding a solution, is finding the problem. What is the root of the zits in the first place? Is it environmental, like stress or diet? Maybe you should consider more water and less soda. Have you been stressing out more than lately? These are all factors that contribute to the cause, and although zit creams can help, they are not the solution for its origin.
Once you have a good grasp on what may be causing the zits, you can began planning your attack. Consider altering your diet to cut out extra junk, increase your water intake, and try to relax! Perhaps try zen, or yoga.
Another common cause of acne is make up, and other products. Look for hypoallergenic alternatives in things like foundations and powders. You might even try one that's designed to treat acne prone skin. That way you have a better chance at less break outs, while covering and treating current ones.
You really should be careful to clean your skin properly. Removing all traces of make up before bed, regardless of who's waking up with you in the morning. If you don't, oily residue builds up and clogs your pores. A fresh cluster of pimples is not what anyone wants to see when they look in the mirror the first time in the morning. Start your day with a thorough washing. End it the same.
Lotions and spot correcting treatments can help. It's important to only use them on the affected area though, as they can be very drying and damaging to the skin. If you notice flakiness or a rash appearing, cut back your usage or consider trying a milder brand. If you dry out the area too much you will have additional skin problems and even possibly inflame the acne.
There are natural, homeopathic and alternative remedies as well. Everything from aloe, to soothe the swelling and lessen the redness, to tablets you can ingest. I've had mixed results with these methods, but the aloe did seem to help with healing my skin overall. Not so much the pimples themselves, but the surrounding areas. The pills didn't do much for me, but they work wonders for some so I wouldn't rule them out.
Now all you need to do is try some of these out for yourself. It may take some time, trial and error. But the way I see it, it can't hurt to try. Even if you can't completely rid yourself of the issues, at least you may be able to learn to manage them better. It's a constant challenge for me, but every time I find something that helps it feels like a little victory! So try something new and learn from my experiences. Hopefully it helps you have the skin you always wanted!
