The Best Careers For Stay At Home Moms And Dads

It isn't easy to say what the best careers for stay at home moms and dads are

. It is very much dependant upon the individual because everybody has different wants and needs and some people are more suited to some types of work than others. Some people may doubt that it is even possible for a busy full time carer to build a worthwhile career from home.

Speaking from my own perspective and based on my own experience as a full time stay at home dad who works from home, I would say that it is possible but the level of success achievable is dependant on factors such as the type of work you decide to do, how many children you have, how old they are and the level of support you receive from your spouse.

Many stay at home full time carers have managed to pull off this tricky balancing act and as well as caring for the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of their families on a day to day basis have managed to build successful home businesses, giving them a feeling of self worth because they are also supporting their families financially.

There are many types of opportunities available to stay at home moms and dads. Some are perfect for earning a little extra cash on the side and others are better suited for building a fully-fledged work from home career. I decided to get involved in network marketing and later also affiliate marketing and now do both together. They both work very well together as one business and I really enjoy both.

In my opinion network marketing and affiliate marketing are the best careers for stay at home moms and dads because of the earning potential and the fact that you can build a residual income. For me, there is also something about them that just makes me feel like I am running a real business but with the added benefit of being able to work flexible hours. There is always a lot to do of course but you are constantly meeting new people and making new friends, which makes it really enjoyable.

There are other options available but for me these turned out to be a good choice and luckily I have the full support of my wife who believes in what I am doing and is also looking forward to the day when I can support our family financially on my own and she can quit work for a while and study her options for her future.

Im not trying to suggest that finding the time required to build a business from home is easy but it can be done. It's all about developing a routine and profitable habits. I am lucky in the fact that my two daughters are of school and nursery age, which means that I am able to work during the day as well as in the evenings.

After I drop them off in the morning I come home and work for three hours. At midday I collect my youngest from nursery. We have some lunch, do some jobs around the house and spend some quality time together. My oldest comes home from school at three so then the three of us do something nice together or they entertain each other while I do a few more jobs around the house. Later on when the children are sleeping I work again. This routine allows me to spend between thirty and forty hours a week, sometimes more depending on how late I work in the evening, working on my business. I try to avoid working on a weekend though!

So for me, the best careers for stay at home moms and dads are those that give you a feeling of self worth and feel like a real business, those that allow you to work flexible hours around the demands of family life and those that genuinely have the potential for you to secure the future of your family and earn a residual income.

Network marketing and affiliate marketing both tick all of the right boxes for me. My wife doesn't have to worry about who is taking care of the kids, I am really enjoying what I am doing and everybody is happy.
