The Best Place to Put Keywords in Your Blog Post Titles
For search engine optimization (SEO) purposes, it is always a good idea to put your keywords into your blog post titles or the titles to any article that you write and post on your website. People find your blog posts in the search engines by looking for keywords and search engines base where the posts show up in the results based on many different factors, but keywords being one of those factors.
But where is the best place to put keywords in your blog post titles? Of course there are only a few places to put them; at the beginning, in the middle or at the end. There are only 3 choices, but the best place may not be the most obvious place.
The best place is actually the beginning (otherwise known as the left hand side) and there are a few different reasons for this:
People read from left to right. When a person sees the title for your blog post, they often decide if they are going to read it or not based on the first few words of the title. If you have a long title for a post and you stick the keywords at the end, you may lose some readers.
Search engines typically value the text that the crawlers "see" first. Due to this, there is going to be more weight placed on the words that are found first over the words in the title that are found in the middle or last.
A lot of people are using mobile devices these days and if your website is not set for mobile users, then long titles may get cut off and people may not scroll over on their screens to see the rest of it. Putting the keywords in the left hand side of the title will up the chances that they will be seen on mobile and smaller browsers.
A lot of people know that they should be using keywords in article and blog post titles. Sometimes the positioning of those words are not really thought about.
