The Best Places To Donate To.
Often times we frequently take for granted a lot of things in our life
. This is usually because we go about our lives and things tend to get busy, making it easy forget just how good we might have it. Then sometimes reality can come and smack you right in the face and then you know you are blessed for some reason.
You could be driving down the street and see a homeless mother and her child sitting on the cold sidewalk, begging for some change. You could be watching TV and a commercial or program comes on about children in war torn areas in the Middle East or Africa. If you are like me you might have that moment where you are in you luxury car or on you comfortable couch and you cant help but think no matter how bad things seem to get in my life I don't have it that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Everyone can and probably should do more to help local or nationwide charities. What are some of the ones with the best reputations and track record for helping others?
The American Red Cross: This is a humanitarian organization that is led entirely by volunteers. Some of the things that they provide are emergency help, especially in disaster areas. As well as community service, help for military members and the families of those service men and women and also collecting, processing and distribution of blood.
Goodwill Industries: If you have ever needed a costume for a party, you have probably been to goodwill. These are great places to bring all of your stuff when you are in the midst of spring-cleaning or need to get rid of old clothes that are not your size anymore or are just outdated. For everyone else who goes there it is pretty much like a thrift store.
Your Public Library: Often time's public libraries can be underfunded and understaffed. If you have old books that you can donate or want to just donate your money so your local public library can afford to buy new books or magazines then this is a great place to do so.
Local Boys and Girls Club of America: This is a great organization that provides activities for kids to do after school. This can keep them off the streets and get them involved in positive aspects within their community. Some of these activities include programs for the arts, sports, academic tutoring and improving job skills.
The United Way: This can be one of the best places to donate because it helps people in specific communities. They do everything from deliver food and meals to people who have difficulty leaving the house, assisting families dealing with a big problem or crisis, and even supporting families having difficulties raising special needs kids. This is a great organization that could always use more support.
So there are a number of places that could use your help or charitable contribution. The question is where do you feel you could help the most? There are always a number of things you can do, big or small, but what matters is that you do them. A little help can go a long way for someone in need and if you start giving back you might just inspire someone to do the same. And if a cycle like that can get started the whole world might just be a better place to live in.
